Mrs B Ojo - Chair of Trustees
I have been involved in education and management for over twenty five years. I worked for the Greater London Council and several London Boroughs before retiring from the public sector as head of Lifelong learning and Youth Service in Bexley. I have been a Governor of several primary schools over the years including being on the Governing Board of a local college. More recently I have worked in international development. I served as a VSO volunteer in Africa working to increase access to quality education for girls in Northern Nigeria and a brief stint in Rwanda on improving school management and teaching English. I do some part time work as a trainer and serve in several capacities in the voluntary sector. Prior to joining the Unity Trust, I was a governor at a local primary school.
Mrs T Tanner - Vice Chair of Trustees
This is my first Trustee role and I am very excited to become involved in the local community having recently got married and moved to Plumstead Common.
I am a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW having qualified at the National Audit Office. There I spent 3 years working with the Department for Education and Education and Skills Funding Agency and became interested in financial management in schools and ways of targeting funding to achieve better educational outcomes. I have also worked in private equity and at Trainline, a high growth private equity backed business, where I was on the international growth team and responsible for the growth plans. I’m now working in the Strategy and Transformation team at BT where I have led a number of projects delivering financial and operational benefits in different parts of the business.
Outside of work I really enjoying walking my dog Monty along the Green Chain walk! I’m a keen traveller and also enjoy swimming and tennis.
I’m really excited to use my experiences to help advance the aims of the school.
